Hey everyone hope y’all are well and apologies for not staying up to date lately and kind of being in the dark but it’s all for good reason since I wanted to have all the final information ready to share with you about what the future looks like for me and the squad going forward about the Race. And I finally have all the information! So without further a do let me happily update you on what’s been going on!
So these past few months my squad and I have been eagerly waiting and anticipating the “what’s next” with going forward on being sent back out or not and what our options will look like based on the current and future status of the world as it slowly opens back up so we can go back out and finish what we started. While waiting it has been challenging, frustrating, sad, good, meh, exciting, fruitful and many other roller coaster of emotions. I know for me personally I hit a pretty rough spot for almost 2 months of being unmotivated and basically depressed cause honestly I didn’t want to be here. I wanted to be back over seas learning and growing more with God. I wanted to have more awe inspiring encounters with the people around me and to witness first hand some jaw dropping, mind blowing miracles. But after awhile I sucked it up, accepted the reality around me and ended my little pity party and got back out to see what little I could at least be doing while waiting for the final verdict. Oh and the final verdict isn’t exactly what you may think it would be but there is definitely a silver lining to it.
The final verdict for what January 2020 Expedition (E-Squad) is this…we as a squad WILL NOT be continuing over seas together but there is a solid handful of us who will be continuing the race this coming up January by merging with the January 2021 expedition squad! So yes I was and am still a little sad that I won’t be with all my amazing E-Squad peeps but at least there is still some of us sticking together while getting to know new faces and hopefully complete a full year with this new group.
So yes again I am still continuing the race by being transferred to the January 2021 expedition route which in itself is different but interesting as well. That also means I am still fundraising yeah! Lol I am currently about $1,500 away from my next goal for training camp which is a total of $3,500 that needs to be raised by the 24th of this month yeah! ??And yes I got to do training camp all over again but it’s okay I’ll manage ??.
Okay recap in case I missed something:
1: The squad I was with this year is no longer continuing the race together. ?? Sad Face
2: Me and a few others from the squad who wanted to continue have been deferred or transferred to the January 2021 expedition squad! ?? Excited Face
3: Yes I am still doing the race and am now officially fundraising again! ( I stopped actively fundraising when I got back because there were too many uncertainties about what the future held for us so I didn’t want to raise money just in case I didn’t go back out)
4: My first fundraising deadline of $3,500 is due the 24th of this month September and I’m lacking about $1,500 needed before training camp. My total goal is about $10,000 total.
5: Let the adventure continue!
So this is simply a brief update on the current status as of today. I will be posting a more detailed and heartfelt post about these past few months and about this past month when I had the amazing time well spent with my squad for a final get together in Dallas where i was able to get some closure and be at peace moving forward for this next adventure.
